NOTE: This issue is subsequent to my January 12 issue, “CSUSOP - SafeSport Survey.”
Two days ago, U.S. Senators Marsha Blackburn (Tennessee) and Gary Peters (Michigan) got "concerned the U.S. Center for SafeSport is not doing the job Congress intended it to" and sent a letter to over 50 National Governing Bodies (NGBs) of the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) with nine questions.
The Center is to oversee the response and resolution of reports of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse and misconduct within the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Movement.

Oddly, today (February 9) is the deadline to submit the U.S. Center for SafeSport’s 2024 Culture & Climate Survey.
On February 5, the KKTV station of Colorado Springs, CO, urged its readers to take this survey if s/he is an adult athlete experiencing abuse or misconduct in their sport.”
The KKTV also posted the below, which was the result of the first survey in 2020.

“From the practice field to the podium, SafeSport wants to understand the experiences of athletes at every level,” U.S. Center for SafeSport CEO Ju’Riese Colon said. “This information is critical to our efforts to change sport culture, and we will use it to guide our processes and prevention strategies.”

“These athletes carry Americans’ hopes, dreams, and ideals. They should not also be forced to carry the burden and pain of abuse,” wrote Senators Blackburn and Peters.
