Where Is The TSOASA/Title IX-WG Baton?
This baton has been missing since November 2 and was last seen at the William J. Hybl Boardroom of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum (USOPM) in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
TSOASA = Ted Stevens Olympic and Amateur Sports Act
Title IX = Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972
WG = Working Group
The TSOASA-TitleIX Working Group, consisting of five individuals, including me, is to assist the Museum in correcting the misinformation about the Amateur Sports Act of 1978. (Explain in my previous issue, Amateur Sports Act Established USOC in 1978-???)
On November 3, the anchor runner (the youngest WG member) jumped from the Museum to the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee Headquarters (0.5 miles away), where she became the Director of Sport and Athlete Services.
It is believed that the baton might be placed at the desk of the new USOPM CEO, Marisa Wigglesworth. The other three relay runners with a coach want to know if Wigglesworth has found any replacement runners for the first leg of the USOPM relay to ensure that the continuity of the “TSOASA and Title IX” project continues progressing. Then, they will ensure that this project continues with the artifact updates, text panel updates, and digital materials.
The Commission of the State of U.S. Olympics and Paralympics (CSUSOP) is required by the Empowering Olympic, Paralympic, and Amateur Athletes Act of 2020 to describe ongoing efforts by the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee to recruit the Olympic and Paralympic Games to the United States.
